The 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce is probably the ultimate super car. They have taken their already top of the line super car and added an even more powerful engine. There were a number of other upgrades made to the car as well. The result was a vehicle that is capable of speeds in excess of two hundred miles per hour. Of course there is a lot more to building a car like the Murcielago SuperVeloce than just putting in a more powerful engine. They had to put in a whole new exhaust system, transmission and brakes as well.

The real appeal of having a 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce is actually the status that comes with owning one (remark even poker celeb Vanessa Rousso is driving a Lambo). While the standard version is considered to be Lamborghini's top of the line model the SuperVeloce is even better. There were only three hundred and fifty of the cars ever built and they came with a price tag of almost half a million dollars. Obviously owning one of these was an ostentatious show of wealth. Of course nobody is going to spend that kind of money on a car unless it comes with the performance to match. The Murcielago certainly does that.

There a few downsides to owning a car like the SuperVeloce however. The biggest one is that the car is not particularly practical. There is no trunk space or anywhere else to store anything so the car is basically useless for running errands or taking long trips. It also lacks a lot of the features that you would expect to find on a modern high end car like a navigation system. The car is really not meant for anything but taking weekend drives, or more practically for racing. That is does very well. If you are going to buy a Murcielago you are probably going to have to have another car for day to day use.

The far bigger downside of a car like the SuperVeloce is the safety issue. While the car performs reasonably well in crash tests it doesn't have a lot of the standard features that you would find to help prevent accidents. The biggest issue is the lack of a traction control system. They don't include this because it would take away from the experience of driving a high performance sports car. The problem is that the Lamborghini has a lot of power and it can be a challenge to control it, especially for inexperienced drivers. The car also lacks things like a collision avoidance system which are standard on almost all other high end cars.

If you are going to buy a Murcielago SuperVeloce it is important that you learn how to drive it properly. It is not like driving a regular car and unless you have experience in similar cars it will come as quite a surprise. That being said few people are disappointed with their decision to buy a Lamborghini, the car is outstanding in terms of performance and it definitely attracts attention.
